IN-HOME AND HOME OFFICE EUTHANASIA SERVICES

Grieve not,

Nor speak of me with tears,

But laugh,

And talk of me as if I were beside you,

I loved you so-- 'twas heaven here with you

Caring and compassionate euthanasia services in the pet's home can be the final act of caring to a pet companion, explains Andrea S. Mullen, DVM.  "In this most difficult and intimate of experiences, I empathize with the decision that no one wants to make.  I have developed a service designed to honor the pet's life and respect the owner's difficult decision."

Dr. Mullen utilizes a two-injection protocol.  The first injection is a sedating medication.  In the one to 15 minutes while the sedating medication is taking effect, the owner may say "good-bye."  The pet's last awareness is the owner saying farewell.  Only after that has taken effect does Dr. Mullen administer a second injection which stops the heart.

Dr. Mullen's complete service includes the following options:

  • Private cremation with personal return of ashes.

  • A memorial candle.

  • A pet loss support book.

  • A memorial clay paw print.

  • One free session with Certified Bereavement Facilitator Julie Klee, of Pet Loss Services.

  • Optional aerial spreading of ashes over the scenic Pacific Ocean by airplane (no additional fee).

Now offering the same, compassionate service in Dr. Mullen's Van Nuys hospice center.
